I'll create My Gaming Channel When I Get a PC
If you've ever said this, maybe being creator isn't for you
Oh, I just need a PC with a 3090, and then I will be the best gaming YouTuber.
I am saving for that Elgato key light; then, I will become an even bigger streamer than xQc.
If you've ever dreamed about being a gaming content creator and said stuff like this, well, I've got some not-so-great news for you. It's not the PC that's holding you back; it's you.
Here's the proof. I've got this little gaming channel where I've been publishing content every week without a fancy PC. Let's check out how it's been doing in 2023.

Wondering how I managed to create a gaming channel in a budget? No worries, I'll break it all down for you.
Starting a gaming channel on a budget is tough. Gaming gear costs a lot, and making content adds up.
But you can choose the budget path, starting with less money, although it means making some sacrifices.
After two years of trying things out and lots of research, I've found a tech setup that works for me and gets great results.
First things first, let's talk gear. How do you make gaming content when you don't even have a PC for gaming and streaming?
Here’s the budget friendly tech stack for a gaming content creator :
Disclaimer : I have used amazon affiliate links for the products
1. Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X : $500

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X (not the S version) are fantastic gaming devices, but they're also great for streaming and content creation. You can easily stream, record, and share your gameplay directly on platforms like Twitch or YouTube using these consoles.
Of course, there are some limitations, such as:
No ability to add overlays
No option to mod games
Inability to play PC-only games
No option to schedule your streams
No capability to react to YouTube videos while streaming
You can't switch between multiple games in a single stream
However, there are also numerous advantages, including:
Creating content without the need for a PC
Streaming most games from the console library
Streaming and recording content with gameplay, your voice, and your face
The key takeaway here is that you can still stream and create content, and that's what truly matters. Just connect your camera and mic to your console, and voilà, you're a gaming content creator, just like everyone else.
2. Camera : $60

Want to show your face on your stream? Well, it can get a bit tricky when you're on a budget because compromises are part of the deal.
For PlayStation, you can choose between a PS5 Camera or a PS4 Camera. On Xbox, any regular USB camera will do the job.
Sure, there are some challenges I've faced:
Figuring out where to put the camera
The camera covering parts of the game
Dealing with grainy footage when zooming in during editing
But there are also some sweet perks:
Crafting videos with compelling stories
Turning one live stream into multiple pieces of content
Showing my face in videos, which helps viewers connect with me
Thanks to this $60 camera I've been using, I've built a YouTube subscriber base. They keep coming back to watch my non-gamer wife and me play games and see our reactions.
Now, here's the thing: You can absolutely choose not to show your face on your channel. In gaming, it's one of the rare categories where curiosity can boost your views even more.
3. Microphone : $30 - $50

If you were to ask me about the most crucial piece of tech for a creator, I'd definitely say it's the microphone. When it comes to the internet, people can overlook subpar video quality, but they're less forgiving when it comes to bad audio quality.
Now, you don't need to break the bank on a microphone. In the $30-$50 range, you can get a decent one that'll get the job done.
For instance, I use the Maono AU-A04TR USB Condenser microphone. It may not be the best out there, but it sure beats my headphones' mic and give me good enough audio for voiceovers.
We’ve talked about how to record or stream your gameplay but how do you convert it into content that gets views?
Well, it turns out that you only need these 3 things to do that.
